New York Mets Designate Pitcher For Assignment

R.J. Alvarez's time on the New York Mets' 40-man roster is over, as he has been designated for assignment.

Alvarez appeared in just one game for the Mets this season, where he allowed three earned runs in 2.1 innings pitched. Perhaps this bad outing played a role in the Mets making this decision, but no matter the case, Alvarez's time in New York is now in jeopardy.

Teams looking to gain a little more pitching depth could consider claiming Alvarez from here. In 32 career MLB games, Alvarez has a 0-1 record and 7.71 ERA.
