Nationals Activate Young Infielder

The Washington Nationals are getting their talented young infielder back on Friday.

The Nationals have activated Luis Garcia from the 10-day injured list.

The twenty-two-year-old will be put right back into the starting lineup on Friday night, starting at second base and batting second against starter Mike Minor and the Cincinnati Reds.

Garcia has been out since August 13 with a left groin strain. Before landing on the injured list, the twenty-two-year-old was slashing .289/.301/.417, with four home runs, 25 RBIs and 18 runs scored over 60 games played.

For his young three-year career, Garcia has hit for a .268 batting average, 12 home runs, 63 RBIs and 65 runs scored over 170 games played.
