MLB Rumors: 4 Teams In The Running For Cubs' Ian Happ

A switch-hitting outfielder fits many teams' needs as we head into the final 24+ hours before the trade deadline. MLB Insider Jon Heyman says there's some huge interest for the Chicago Cubs' versatile 27-year-old Ian Happ. He also links him to four teams.

The Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves are named.

As a switch-hitter, he could fit nicely into the Jays lineup; the Padres have been discussing a package deal with the Cubs that would include another big bat they're likely to trade, while the Brewers and Braves are notably looking for another outfield bat.

The bonus with Happ is that he can also play second base, and even third in a pinch.

He's batting .279 while hitting 9 home runs and 25 doubles in this, his first All-Star season.
