Mets Could Be Calling Up Top Prospect

Mike Puma of the New York Post reported on Sunday that the New York Mets have not ruled out the possibility of calling up their number-two ranked prospect.

With the injury to versatile infielder Luis Guillorme, who's now out for several weeks, the Mets now have a roster spot open and Brett Baty is being seriously considered as the replacement.

The twenty-two-year-old has been absolutely mashing the ball in the minors this season, slashing an absurd .315/.410/.533, with 76 runs scored, 19 home runs and 60 RBIs across 95 games between Double-A and Triple-A.

Baty was the 12th overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft and is the 18th-ranked prospect in all of baseball.

Number-five ranked prospect Mark Vientos is apparently not being considered as a potential call-up right now.
