Dodgers Release Former Bullpen Mainstay

He was a mainstay in the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen for seven years from 2014-2020, and made his return to the organization this May. But those days are now over for Pedro Baez, as the Dodgers have released him from his minor league contract.

Baez struggled to a 14.29 ERA with Oklahoma City in Triple-A.

For that seven-year run, however, Baez was a critical member of the Dodgers bullpen, compiling an overall 3.03 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with a 3:1 K/BB ratio.

He was a key arm in getting the ball to Kenley Jansen in the 9th. And he does have a World Series ring from 2020 to take with him.

Baez had been with the Houston Astros the past two seasons, but had only thrown 6.2 mostly unsuccessful innings with them.
