Dodgers Pitcher Returning Friday

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be getting an importance piece of their bullpen back on Friday.

Pitcher Blake Treinen is set to be activated from the injured list on Friday.

Treinen will make one more rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City before rejoining the Dodgers' bullpen on the weekend. In five rehab innings, Treinen has posted a 3.60 ERA with six strikeouts.

The thirty-four year old has been out since mid-April with a shoulder issue. Treinen's role is usually as a high-leverage arm, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Dodgers don't throw him back into that role right away.

Treinen's only managed to throw three innings for the Dodgers this season. However, when healthy, Treinen is an elite arm, indicated by the sparkling 1.99 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 85 strikeouts that he put up over 72 innings in the 2021 season. He also converted seven saves last season, and was formerly one of the best closers in the game back in 2018, so he can provide help in that area if the Dodgers require it.

Regardless, Blake Treinen's return will be great for an already surging Los Angeles Dodgers team.
