Braves Activate Starter from Concussion IL

It will be Jacob DeGrom vs Max Fried in the series finale on Thursday.

Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker confirmed Wednesday that starter Max Fried will return from the injured list to start against the New York Mets on Thursday.

Fried landed on the concussion list earlier this month when, as he was attempting to field a ground ball, he smacked his head on the ground. His symptoms have apparently faded now, however, and he'll only end up missing one of his starts through the rotation.

The twenty-eight-year-old returns to a fantastic 2.60 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a brilliant 127:25 K/BB ratio over 138 innings. He's also posted a 10-4 record on the season. 

A showdown between DeGrom and Fried, two of baseball's best starting pitchers? Yeah, that will be fun to watch.
