Angels Use Tik Tok To Announce Mike Trout's Return Today

Generally regarded as the greatest player of this generation—when he can stay on the field—Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout will return to the lineup on Friday, sooner than expected after his rare back condition was recently revealed. 

And the Angels used a unique method of making his activation official, on Tik Tok:

Trout has been out for over a month with what was first thought to be just a rib injury, but turned out to be diagnosed as "a costovertebral dysfunction at T5 in his spine". The 3-time MVP and 10-time All-Star says, however, that after treatment, he's feeling 100%. 

"I'm excited,” Trout said. “I'm happy with the progress. It was good for me to take time off and get it out of there. And now I get to play for about a month and a week, so I'm looking forward to it."

Last season, Trout went down in mid-May with a season-ending calf strain. 

To this point in 2022, he's hitting .270 with a typically-extraordinary .967 OPS, along with 24 HR and 51 RBIs in 79 games.
