Rangers Outfielder Heading Overseas

Over the weekend, the Rangers designated Zach Reks for assignment. Instead of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A, Reks has instead decided to sign a deal with the Lotte Giants of the KBO.

Reks appeared in 16 games for the Rangers this season, where he had a .265 batting average and three RBIs. Overall, he had some decent moments at the plate, but it wasn't enough for him to maintain his spot on the 40-man roster. Now, he will be taking his talents to the KBO as a result of this.

It will be intriguing to see how Reks performs overseas. If he does well, perhaps it will open the door to a return to North America later down the road. Time will tell on that front.
