New York Yankees Pitcher Elects Free Agency

After clearing waivers, New York Yankees pitcher Shane Greene has elected to become a free agent instead of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A.

Greene appeared in just one game with the Bronx Bombers this season, where he allowed two earned runs in an inning pitched. Following that, the veteran pitcher ended up being designated for assignment. Now, he will be aiming to find a new home elsewhere from here.

Greene's immense experience at the major league level could lead to teams calling. In 343 career games, he has a 24-29 record and 4.53 ERA.
