MLB Rumors: Los Angeles Angels To Trade Veteran Infielder

It's funny how quickly things can change in baseball. At the beginning of the year, the Angels looked guaranteed to make the playoffs. However, they have fallen out of the playoff race entirely, even with Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. As a result of this, they are once again sellers, and Matt Duffy is in the rumor mill because of it.

Duffy is currently sidelined with back tightness, but there's reason to believe that he will be able to return before the season is over. The pending UFA also only is making $1.5 million this campaign, so he isn't expensive. At that price, he is worth taking a chance on in a depth role.

Duffy is a solid option for teams in need of some versatility, too. The veteran is able to play third base, second base, and shortstop. In 45 games this campaign, he has zero home runs, five RBIs, and .261 batting average.
