Los Angeles Angels Designate Infielder For Assignment

The Angels have designated Jonathan Villar for assignment.

Villar was recently signed by the Angels after being released by the Cubs. The veteran infielder was hoping to bounce back with the struggling Angels, but things just haven't gotten better. In 13 games with the Halos, he has one home run, three RBIs, and a .163 batting average. With that, he struck out 17 times in his 54 plate appearances.

The Angels will have until the end of the week to either trade or place Villar on waivers. If he passes waivers and elects to become a free agent again, there could be some interest around the league in him.
