Tigers Calling Up Baseball's No. 2 Prospect

The time has come. It was supposed to happen out of spring training, until the injury bug bit on the eve of the regular season. Now, Riley Greene, the No. 2 prospect in all of baseball, is coming to The Show.

The Detroit Tigers have made the call, as Greene seems to be fully healed from the broken foot he suffered at the end of spring. He's been completing his rehab in the minors for the past week or so, and now he's headed to the big leagues. Finally.

He'll take the roster spot of outfielder Austin Meadows, who heads back to the IL for the second time this season.

Greene will make his debut on Saturday, when the Tigers host the Texas Rangers.

Back in spring, all Greene did was hit .429 with an insane 1.528 OPS, a couple of homers and three stolen bases. He'll hope to pick up that pace again—or even something very remotely resembling it—back in a Tigers uniform.
