Red Sox Promote Prospect

The Boston Red Sox have called up Jeter Downs to their major league roster.

Downs' debut with the Red Sox has been something fans have been waiting for, as he was one of the main pieces that came back in the Mookie Betts trade with the Dodgers. Now, Downs is officially with the major league club, and it will be interesting to see what he provides.

Downs has had a bit of a rough year with Triple-A Worcester, however. Although he has 11 home runs and 21 RBIs in 53 games, he also has a very low .180 batting average. With the Red Sox, he will be hoping to hit for contact a bit better.
