Jays' Third Baseman Rips Teammate's Glove with Throw

The Toronto Blue Jays inflicted some serious damage on the Baltimore Orioles last night. They met with little resistance offensively, scoring eleven runs to the Orioles' one.

However, the damage wasn't only on the scoreboard, nor only against the Orioles.

With a quick throw to first base, Espinal unexpectedly broke Vladimir Guerrero's glove. While Guerrero certainly wasn't too excited about the mishap, fans took it as an opportunity to deify Espinal.

The generous praise from fans doesn't come out of nowhere.

Espinal is on track for a career season, slashing .290/.345/.443, with 23 runs scored, five homeruns, and 31 RBIs across 232 plate appearances.

Defensively, Espinal has been impressive too.

Although such a tweet by a fan could be written off as mere bias, it should be noted that Espinal has put up a fantastic .986 fielding percentage on the season, with just three errors. That puts him among the league's best defensively.

Espinal will surely continue to showcase his talent offensively and defensively throughout the season.
