Royals First Baseman Placed On Injured List

The Kansas City Royals will be without Carlos Santana for at least a little while, as the veteran first baseman has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to an ankle injury.

Santana has been off to a very slow start with KC in 2022, as he has a .159 batting average in 19 games. With that, he has also added a home run and three RBIs. However, when looking at his past numbers, the Royals certainly would rather have him in the lineup than not. This is especially true if he can bounce back once healthy.

In 1,672 career games between the Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland, and the Royals, Santana has 260 home runs, 871 RBIs, and a .244 batting average. With that, he is a one-time All-Star and Silver Slugger winner.
