Rockies Sign Pitcher

The Colorado Rockies have signed Riley Smith to a minor league contract. He is set to join Triple-A Albuquerque from here.

Smith was let go by the Arizona Diamondbacks this season, but now he will be a member of another NL West club in the Rockies. From here, he will be aiming to impress in Triple-A to earn himself an eventual call-up to the big-league club.

If Smith gets called up to the Rockies later down the road, it will mark three straight years of making appearances in the majors. In 30 career games with the D-Backs, he sports a 3-4 record to go along with a 5.04 ERA.
