MLB Rumors: Pirates To Trade Veteran Pitcher

After quietly signing a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates this offseason, Jose Quintana has pitched well so far this campaign. In six starts, he has a 1-1 record to go along with a 2.70 ERA. If he continues to keep performing this well as the season continues, he will be a primary trade target once the deadline is here.

The Pirates are once again bottom feeders this campaign, so they naturally are expected to be sellers. With Quintana being a veteran and signed to a one-year deal, there's no question that he will be one of the players who they end up shopping. It also doesn't hurt that he has a very affordable $2 million salary for the year, too.

Alas, it will be intriguing to see what happens from here with Quintana. If the 2016 All-Star keeps this kind of play up, there should be plenty of teams interested in his services.
