MLB Rumors: Nationals Infielder Gaining Trade Interest

Washington Nationals infielder Josh Bell will be eligible for unrestricted free agency this offseason. If the Nationals are unable to sign him to a contract extension, a trade will be in order. Keep in mind, the Nats are off to an 11-21 record and are destined to be sellers this year.

If the Nationals officially shop Bell, there should be plenty of interest around the league in his services. He's off to an excellent start in 2022, as he has four home runs, 21 RBIs, and a .349 batting average. He also has put together a strong career overall. In 726 career games between the Pirates and Nationals, 117 home runs, 418 RBIs, and a .265 batting average. He is also a one-time All-Star.

It will be intriguing to see if Washington will be able to keep Bell around. Given the kind of start he is having, he is raising his overall value and should be able to land himself a great contract from here - whether it's in DC or elsewhere.
