"Worst Fans On The Planet!": Guardians React After Being Pelted With Trash By Yankees Fans

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Myles Straw didn't hold anything back when describing the shower of trash (and insults) that rained down on them in the Yankee Stadium outfield today: "Classless. Worst fans on the planet."

Immediately after a Yankees walk-off win, fans began throwing trash at Cleveland outfielder Oscar Mercado. On the play before, Straw literally started climbing up the outfield fence to confront fans for their treatment of injured outfielder Steven Kwan.

It began after Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a double to left to tie the score in the ninth inning. Guardians left fielder Steven Kwan banged into the wall on the play, incurring an injury. Certain things were shouted at Kwan from the stands, and that's when Straw climbed up the left field wall to confront them:

"When someone's hurt, you don't prey on that... At that point, just cheer," added Straw. "Be happy your team tied the game up. Be a normal baseball fan and just enjoy what’s going on."

As the garbage continued to rain down after the Gleyber Torres walk-off hit, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton left the team celebration to run out to the outfield to tell fans to stop. One umpire was even hit with a projectile.

With plenty of video of the incident, there will no doubt be some disciplinary action to come.
