TRADE: Brewers Acquire Another Catcher

The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired their second catcher of the day. This time, they have added Alex Jackson from the Miami Marlins in exchange for Hayden Cantrelle and Alexis Ramirez.

Jackson will provide the Brewers with another catcher who some major league experience under his belt. In 42 games this past season with the Marlins, he had three home runs, 12 RBIs, and a .157 batting average. Overall, he didn't have the best year at the plate, but he will be aiming to change that in 2022 with Milwaukee.

Yet, at this juncture, Jackson is expected to start the season in Triple-A. However, there certainly is a possibility that he could receive a call-up as the season continues. This is especially true if fellow newcomer Victor Cartini struggles, or another major league catcher gets injured.

In 61 career games between the Atlanta Braves and Marlins, Jackson has three home runs, 12 RBIs, and a .132 batting average. It will be intriguing to see how much these stats change in 2022.
