Report: Ronald Acuna Return Date Target Set By Braves

MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal has the latest on the impending return of Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. The team is "targeting loosely" May 6th:

Acuna has been out since tearing his ACL last July. According to Rosenthal, he could begin a rehab assignment as soon as Tuesday. He would likely play about 5-6 innings per game in the outfield at first, and then shift to DH. The goal, says Rosenthal, is to build that up to 9 innings in the OF before he's good to go.

Whether he'd play RF or CF upon his return is still to be determined, and his ability to play every day or not, upon his return, is uncertain as well.

When Acuna went down on July 10th last year, he was on his way to another All-star season, with 24 home runs, 52 RBIs and 17 stolen bases.

May 6th has been targeted for his return as it is the start of an 8-game homestand in Atlanta.
