Reds Designate Utilityman For Assignment

The Cincinnati Reds are continuing to make moves, as they now have designated JT Riddle for assignment.

Riddle appeared in two games with the Reds this season, where he had a .250 batting average. Although he wasn't bad when called upon, the team needed to free up a spot for Jonathan India's return. Now, teams can elect to claim Riddle off waivers if they choose to. If not, he will likely be heading to Triple-A.

Riddle has made appearances at the major league level in each of the last six seasons, so there could be other clubs willing to give him a shot. In 252 career games between the Miami Marlins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Minnesota Twins, and Reds, he has 19 home runs, 80 RBIs, and a .223 batting average. Let's see if the veteran can find a new home from here.
