Padres Designate Pitcher For Assignment

With the San Diego Padres bringing in Kyle Tyler off waivers, they needed to open up a spot on their roster for him. As a result of this, they now have designated Javy Guerra for assignment.

Guerra has made appearances at the major league level in each of the last four seasons with the Padres. During them, he sported a 1-0 record and 8.46 ERA. Those numbers aren't particularly impressive, but if he ends up finding a new home from here, he will be looking to change that.

Guerra has had some success in the minor leagues, however. In 24 career games, he has a 0-0 record, 2.96 ERA, and 32 strikeouts. With this, there could be a team that is willing to take a shot on the 26-year-old. This is especially true if they believe that he can translate some of this success to the majors.

Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see what happens with Guerra from here.
