Cincinnati Reds Promote Pitcher

The Cincinnati Reds have called up Daniel Duarte to their major league roster.

Duarte is getting his second chance with the big-league club this season. In his two appearances with the team, he allowed two runs in 1.2 innings pitched. Although that currently leaves him with a disastrous 10.80 ERA, he now has the power to change that rather quickly by pitching some solid innings from here.

Duarte will now be aiming to cement himself a spot on their major league roster for the rest of the campaign. At this point of the campaign, the Reds have a 2-7 record, so they certainly should be open to making changes moving forward. Thus, that could help Duarte's chances of sticking around, too.

Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see how Duarte performs during this call-up to the Reds.
