Yankees GM Says Offer To Judge Is On The Way

The time has come for the New York Yankees to approach the bench and address the Judge. According to MLB Insider Jon Heyman, a long-term extension offer is expected to be offered this weekend to the face of the franchise, Aaron Judge.

As Heyman notes, the contract has a chance to clock in as the 5th highest overall valued contract amongst outfielders, behind only Mike Trout, Mookie Betts, Bryce Harper and Judge's teammate Giancarlo Stanton.

GM Brian Cashman is well aware that Judge has insisted that he wants any extension to be worked out and signed before Opening Day, otherwise he will become a free agent after the season.

"Obviously, there's two parties involved in this," said Cashman. "All I can reassure you is that all of those conversations will have taken place before Opening Day, and we'll know where we stand."

The 3-time All-Star, Judge has spent his entire 6-year career with the Yankees, and he has already said that's his preference going forward.

Opening Day is April 7th. About a week and a half before we know the verdict.
