MLB Rumors: Yankees Expressing Interest In Outfielder

Before the lockout began, the New York Yankees were interested in Michael Conforto, according to Mike Puma of The New York Post.

Now that the lockout is finally over, it wouldn't be surprising at all to see the Yankees pursue him again. The first half of the offseason was immensely quiet for the Yankees, as they missed out on several big-name free agents. Yet, they can now make up for it before Opening Day, so let's see if Conforto becomes one of their additions.

Conforto would be a nice addition to the Yankees' outfield, as it would give them another quality power bat in their lineup. Furthermore, Yankee Stadium is known for being a home run hitter's paradise, so that also could entice the 29-year-old to sign there.

In 125 games last season with the New York Mets, Conforto had 14 home runs, 55 RBIs, and a .232 batting average. It was a down year for the former All-Star, but he will now be looking to bounce back in 2022. It would be very interesting to see him join the other side of the Subway Series.
