MLB Rumors: Rockies Interested In Star Outfielder

According to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post, the Colorado Rockies have expressed interest in Michael Conforto.

Once the lockout is over, don't be surprised to see the Rockies explore this avenue yet again. Conforto could be a fantastic addition to their outfield. With Coors Field known as being a power hitter's paradise, the 29-year-old could thrive and have himself a nice bounce-back season there.

The 2021 campaign is one that Conforto would like to forget. In 125 games with the New York Mets, he had 14 home runs, 55 RBIs, and a .232 batting average. These numbers were low for the veteran, but he certainly has the capability to rebound. Keep in mind, he did just have 33 home runs with the Mets back in 2019.

In 757 career games with the Mets, Conforto has 132 home runs, 396 RBIs, and a .255 batting average. With that, he also was named an All-Star during the 2017 season.

The Rockies are in an interesting position. Although they are on the verge of losing Trevor Story, it seems that they are aiming to become more competitive. Let's see if this leads them to aggressively pursue Conforto from here.
