MLB Rumors: Orioles Interested In Infielder

According to Roch Kubatko, the Baltimore Orioles were interested in Donovan Solano before the lockout.

When looking at Solano's high degree of versatility, he could make for a solid addition to the Orioles' lineup. He is capable of playing second base, shortstop, and third base, so they would have several different options with him - if do they sign him, of course.

In 101 games this past season with the San Francisco Giants, Solano had seven home runs, 31 RBIs, and a .280 batting average. It was another very solid season for the 34-year-old, but he is capable of hitting for contact even better. Keep in mind, he had a .330 batting average in 2019 and then batted .326 in 2020. He also would win a Silver Slugger Award for his success in 2020, too.

Once the lockout is over it will be intriguing to see if the Orioles decide to pursue Solano again. Although they certainly aren't expected to be a playoff team in 2022, the possibility of being a key player for them could interest the 34-year-old.
