MLB Rumors: NL Team Enters Michael Conforto Sweepstakes

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the San Diego Padres are interested in Michael Conforto.

The Padres are looking to improve their current outfield group and have been linked to several big-names because of it. With that, they are looking to get back into the postseason and be much better than their disappointing 79-83 record from this past season. Thus, it isn't surprising that they are considering Conforto.

Conforto would provide them with another strong bat in their lineup, which in turn, could make them produce more offense in the process. Yet, he is also coming off of a down year. In 125 games with the New York Mets this season, he had 14 home runs, 55 RBIs, and a .232 batting average.

Yet, the ability to bounce-back is certainly present with Conforto. Keep in mind, he is a former All-Star who just had 33 home runs back in 2019. He's a good player who may benefit from a change of scenery, so let's see if he ends up in San Diego.
