MLB Rumors: Japanese Media Reporting Seiya Suzuki Has Made His Decision

Japanese media are reporting that Seiya Suzuki has made his decision on which team he'll start his MLB journey with. Although no official announcement has yet come on this side of the world, the word from overseas is that the Japanese superstar has chosen the San Deigo Padres. 

The Japanese daily sports newspaper Nikkan Sports out of Tokyo, along with several other Japanese sports outlets, are reporting that the Nippon League superstar has agreed to come to the Padres for a 5-year deal worth close to $70M. Note, there has yet to be any confirmation from Suzuki or the Padres.

Other reports in the U.S. say contrary to the Japanese reports, a decision hasn't yet been made, and several other teams are said to be in the final list of teams Suzuki was considering, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, and Seattle Mariners.

In fact, Suzuki himself has decided to post his own update late Monday afternoon (U.S. time), by offering up this hilarious post on Instagram.

Padres pitcher Yu Darvish was doing some recruiting of Suzuki over the weekend, so maybe they are still a front-runner.
