MLB Rumors: Blue Jays In Trade Talks On "Several Players"

The Toronto Blue Jays have had one of the best offseasons in baseball, but according to The Athletic's Jim Bowden, former MLB GM, they might not be done yet.

Appearing on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio, Bowden said the Blue Jays "have been having trade discussions on several players, and they may end up making a deal this weekend."

Discussion then turned to their much-talked-about search for balancing the lineup. "They're a very right-handed lineup," said Bowden, insinuating that they're still on the hunt for a left-handed or switch-hitting bat. They recently brought switch-hitting MLB veteran Dexter Fowler into camp, but they could be looking for more.

Bowden, however, says whatever move the Jays may make, it WON'T be for Cleveland Guardians superstar Jose Ramirez. Bowden says he's been told by his Cleveland sources that Ramirez won't be traded before Opening Day. Extension talks are actually underway with the All-Star infielder, but if he gets moved at all, it won't be until at least the trade deadline.

Nevertheless, alright the post-lockdown frenzy has calmed down, there's still a fair bit of buzz out there.

"There are a lot of conversations going on with GMs right now. And there is a possibility we may see a trade or two this weekend."
