Dodgers Re-Sign Manager Dave Roberts To Hefty Extension

With one World Series championship and several other close calls, Dave Roberts has earned his keep at the helm of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his successful 6-year run has earned him a new 3-year extension to remain as manager.

Roberts' accomplishments with the Dodgers are impressive:

  • 1 World Series Championship
  • 3 World Series appearances in total
  • 3 National League pennants
  • 5 Division Titles
  • 542-329 record overall (.622 winning percentage)
As noted in the Los Angeles Times, no manager in Major League Baseball history has managed more games than Roberts with a better winning percentage than his .622.

The 49-year-old began his run with the Dodgers in 2016 and has yet to miss the postseason. And with the blockbuster signing of free agent Freddie Freeman, the Dodgers' chances look pretty good again. So good in fact that he has flatly predicted another Dodgers World Series win in 2022.

He was heading into the final year of his current contract, and is now signed on through the 2025 season.
