MLB Rumors: 2 Toronto Blue Jays Expected To Be Traded

The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to be a powerhouse in the American League in 2022. One of the best teams in the second half of last season, the Jays have added to their arsenal of weapons and are reportedly still interested in making some more moves once the MLB lockout ends. While free agents are always an option when you have boat loads of money supported by ownership, expect to see the Blue Jays involved in some trade chatter.

2 Blue Jays Who Could Be Dealt

Cavan Biggio: Last season was a disappointment for the one-time top prospect as Biggio couldn't stay on the field. He finished last season with only 250 plate appearances and hit .224 with seven HR. Biggio was supposed to be the every day third baseman but it just hasn't worked out so far. The 26-year-old could be moved for a proven veteran this offseason and given his pedigree and his plate discipline there would be interest. The Jays may however hold onto him to play second base in 2022 as Marcus Semien left the team to get rich with the Texas Rangers. Biggio's versatility is appealing and so is his team control through 2026, but the Jays may need to part with him if they want to upgrade third base.

Randal Grichuk: Another offseason and another round of trade rumors as Grichuk's name always seems to be involved. The 29-year-old had a fine season in 2021, cranking 22 HR and hitting .243 on the year. He's capable of playing all three outfielder positions and can do so handsomely. Grichuk provides some pop in his bat and teams have been in contact with the Jays already this offseason, including the Milwaukee Brewers who loved Rowdy Tellez so much they may want to go back to the well. The veteran outfielder has two seasons left on his contract and it's expected he will be moved before opening pitch next season.
