MLB Rumors: 2 AL Central Players Who Could Be Traded

The offseason moves were happening fast and furious before the lockout took place and now many of the experts across the league are predicting a flurry of transactions once the MLB is back to business. In our latest segment we'll hop around to each division and showcase a couple of players who could be traded next by their ball club.

American League Central

Chicago White Sox: Craig Kimbrel: The White Sox reliever hasn't lived up to expectations since switching teams in the Windy City. With Liam Hendriks already in place as the closer, look for the team to gauge the trade market before spring training and make a move. Kimbrel's in line to make $16 million in 2022, and his agent will be quick to point out he's still a dominant reliever, punching out 15.1 per nine innings in 2021. Once teams realize they need a closer, Kimbrel will be on the move and the White Sox will likely have a new bat in the lineup because of it.
Cleveland Guardians: Jose Ramirez: The Guardians need to construct a full rebuild and Ramirez is the first player that should be moved for a boat load of potential. He's on a great contract, only owed $25 million over the next two seasons. Last season he clobbered 36 HR and brought in 103 runs. The MVP-type talent can play a solid third base and has the ability to move over to the other side of the diamond if needed. Cleveland isn't shy about moving out stars, as we've seen recently with Francisco Lindor, so expect much of the same from them in 2022.
