Milwaukee Brewers And Boston Red Sox Strike A Deal

Right before the lockout officially began, the Milwaukee Brewers and Boston Red Sox made a last minute deal. It was certainly a shocking one, too, as Boston sent outfielder Hunter Renfroe to the Brewers in exchange for outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. and prospects, David Hamilton and Alex Binelas.
Renfroe just had fantastic season with the Red Sox. In 144 games, he had 31 home runs, 96 RBIs and a .259 batting average. It was a complete turnaround from his 2020 campaign, as he sported a .156 average in 42 games with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Renfroe also is under team control until 2024. If he continues to play this well with Milwaukee, this will be a huge steal for them. Upon first glance, they look like the winners of the trade.

Bradley Jr. is now back with the Red Sox after spending just one year with the Brewers. In 134 games this season, he was underwhelming, as he had six home runs, 29 RBIs and an immensely low .163 batting average. He will be aiming to get back on track with the franchise he knows best.

In 873 games with the Red Sox during his first stint, he had 98 home runs, 376 RBIs and a .239 batting average. He should add more dependability to the Sox's outfield, as he of course has a Gold Glove on his resume. He also was an All-Star in 2016.

Hamilton is a shortstop and second baseman who split the season with Single-A and Double-A. In 101 games, he had eight home runs, 43 RBIs and a .258 batting average. Speed is a huge part of his game, as he also stole an impressive 52 bases.

Binelas just finished his first season in Single-A. In 36 games, he had nine home runs, 27 RBIs and a .314 batting average. That certainly was not a bad start to his professional baseball career.
