Report: Dodgers vs Yankees Bidding War For Top Free Agent

It's always a good sign for any free agent if one of the big market, deep-pocketed teams are bidding on you. But when you have baseball's TWO biggest spenders in a bidding war for your services?

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, Corey Seager has got it made.

Both the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees are going hard after Seager, and that can only translate to an earth-shattering signing. Most observers are already predicting a contract for the 27-year-old superstar shortstop in the 10-year, $300+ Million range, but when these two teams are going at it head-to-head, who knows how high it could go.

The Dodgers, of course, are the incumbent, Seager having spent his entire 7-year career in LA. If they were to lose out, however, they've got themselves covered, since they already have one of the other superstar shortstops in the sport, Trea Turner, acquired at this year's trade deadline.

As for the Yankees, they're desperate to make a big splash in the shortstop market, as they've completely bailed ship on Gleyber Torres as the answer.

And for the team that misses out on Seager, there are still four other superstar (or close to it) shortstops available.
