3 Teams Who Should Take A Shot On Corey Kluber

After pitching just eight games over the last two seasons, Corey Kluber signed with the New York Yankees for this season. He managed to get into 16 starts, where he sported a 5-3 record and 3.83 ERA. Although it was great that fans got to see more of him, he still did battle injuries yet again. However, teams could still take a chance on the two-time Cy Young Award winner, especially if it's on a cheap deal.

Here are three teams who come to mind.

Los Angeles Dodgers: The Los Angeles Dodgers have both Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer with expired contracts at this said time. If the worst case scenario occurs, the Dodgers could look to give Kluber a shot. They still could even consider using him as a middle of the rotation guy. The Dodgers aren't afraid to take chances on veteran, as evidenced by Albert Pujols and Cole Hamels this season - although the latter wasn't able to actually start for the team due to arm pain.

San Diego Padres: The San Diego Padres should be looking at pitchers on the market this off-season. Kluber may not be the complete star he once was, but he certainly showed signs of dominance at times with the Yankees. If it's on an affordable deal, why wouldn't the Padres consider him? After the way this season was for them, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a shot on a former ace.

Detroit Tigers: The Detroit Tigers have already made a trade this off-season, as they acquired catcher Tucker Barnhart from the Reds. It is known that they are going to be aggressive, so it wouldn't be too shocking to see them pursue Kluber. He is another veteran who can help mentor their young players and has the potential to thrive.
