3 Potential Destinations for SP Danny Duffy

Danny Duffy hits the free agent market on Monday as the lefty starter is one of the many talented players hurlers to hit the open market. Duffy was traded midseason and is not eligible for a qualifying offer so he was well aware this day was coming. The Dodgers legend will have some decisions to make as there's going to be a ton of interest.

3 Teams Who Have Duffy on Their Radar:

Philadelphia Phillies: Duffy started only 12 games last season and recorded 65 strikeouts in 61 innings. He still can command his fastball and considering he's never been outside the Royals pitching development, the Phils would love to get their hands on him. Duffy is a solid back end of the rotation option in Philadelphia and if they are willing to offer him a multi-year deal, it could be an easy fit.

Seattle Mariners: The Mariners were a 90-win team and it caught some by surprise. The team is expected to spend some money this offseason and fill in some gaps. Adding Duffy would be a nice compliment to their group and a veteran who if he can stay healthy has shown he's capable of winning ball games. Again, Duffy would look nice as a four or five starter in Seattle, nothing more.

Toronto Blue Jays: With Robbie Ray and Steven Matz to worry about for the Blue Jays, Duffy is a perfect fall back option should the duo walk. Hitters only hit .226 against the southpaw last season and his strikeout rate of 25.8% of batters was a career high. Duffy has a career high of 1.1 HR per nine innings, something to look out for at Roger's Centre in Toronto. If the Blue Jays land Duffy it will be because Ray and Matz are for sure leaving.
