3 Teams Interested in Signing SP Marcus Stroman

Marcus Stroman is likely going to have a new mound to throw off next season as the New York Mets are in tough to re-sign the right-hander. Stroman hits the free agent market this winter with a number of teams who will have a variety of interest as he'll see short-term and long-term offers.

3 Teams Who Could Sign Stroman

Texas Rangers: Money talks and the Rangers have made one thing clear, they plan on spending a lot of it this winter on starting pitching. Stroman is coming off a season where he posted a 10-13 record with a respectable 3.02 ERA and struck out 158 batters in 178 innings pitched. He matched his career high in starts after sitting out a season due to pandemic concerns. His 61-60 lifetime record doesn't make him the best pitcher available, but someone who the Rangers could easily use to upgrade their staff.

New York Yankees: It seems inevitable that Stroman would eventually pitch for the Yanks and it could be happening as early as next season. The New York native loves reppin' his roots and if one New York team is going to pay more than the other, why wouldn't he jump ship. It also helps his cause that he's pitched in the AL east and been successful. Certainly a selling feature for his reps when speaking to the likes of the Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox.

Los Angeles Dodgers: Stroman loves the bright lights and the Dodgers could be in need of a few arms this winter. With the likes of Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer likely departing, Stroman could compliment the top of the rotation in LA. His polarizing personality is suited for the big stage so it's very likely Stroman heads to a major market and LA makes the cut. The Dodgers should be considered a dark horse in this race.
