Zack Greinke May Be Moved To Bullpen For The Postseason
Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker stated that there's "a very distinct possibility" that Zack Greinke could be moved to the bullpen for the postseason.
In 29 games this season, Greinke has an 11-6 record and 4.11 ERA. The Astros do sport a strong rotation, so it may make sense for him to take on a bullpen role moving forward. He also has been dealing with ongoing neck soreness, so lowering his workload also could be beneficial. It's better than them not being able to use Greinke at all.Dusty Baker said Zack Greinke might pitch a rehab outing for Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, which would mean his regular season is over. "We just need him sharp for when we do need him," Baker said. Greinke in the postseason bullpen is "a very distinct possibility," per Baker.

At this time, the Astros have a 92-65 record and are looking to have a deep postseason run again. No matter what role the 37-year-old pitcher has in the playoffs, he should be a positive element to their club. We will have to wait and see what ends up occurring with him.
