Toronto Blue Jays Claim Jake Lamb

The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed Jake Lamb off of waivers from the Chicago White Sox. In response to the move, the Blue Jays designated 27-year-old rookie Connor Overton for assignment.

Lamb played 43 games with the White Sox this season. In them, he had six home runs and 13 RBIs to go along with a .212 batting average. With the Blue Jays, he will likely be a utility player, as he is able to first base, third base and the outfield.

Lamb has had past success in the MLB. During the 2017 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks, he hit 30 home runs and had 105 RBIs. He also participated in the All-Star game that year, too. In 2016, he had another successful year at the plate, as he had 29 home runs and 91 RBIs in 151 games. However, he has never been able to replicate those totals since injuring his shoulder in 2018.

In 652 career games between the Diamondbacks, Oakland A's and White Sox, he has 90 home runs, 325 RBIs and a .238 batting average. Here's to hoping that he can be a useful part of the Blue Jays moving forward.
