Houston Astros' Jake Odorizzi Calls Out Manager

Houston Astros right-hander Jake Odorizzi made one thing very clear on Tuesday night, he wasn't interested in being pulled early against the Seattle Mariners. The starter didn't think it was warranted and didn't hold anything back.

Honestly, I think it's bullshit. I'm glad we won. If not, I'd be the subject of blame. I had 66 pitches through five innings. I don't really know what needs to be said other than that.

The Astros yanked their starter early and then five relievers went on to combine for three hits, one earned run in five innings, as Houston came back 5-4 in extras.

You can't blame Astros manager Dusty Baker for his strategy. The starter was about to face the heart of the Mariners lineup and has shown in the past batting averages rise up once they have been through the order a couple of times.

Smart move by Baker, and Odorizzi makes his case to stay in games longer next time around.
