Confirmed: Cole Hamels Signs with LA Dodgers

Veteran pitcher Cole Hamels, a four-time MLB All-Star and 2008 NLCS & World Series MVP, has signed a deal with the LA Dodgers.
The move will team Hamels up with David Price, Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer to form a vaunted staff that could propel the Dodgers to a repeat World Series. The group have a combined four World Series championships, twenty-five All-Star Game selections and seven Cy Young Awards.
Hamels pitched in 27 games for the Cubs in 2019, going a mediocre 7-7 with a 3.81 ERA, and only pitched in one game for the Atlanta Braves last year, as he was plagued by triceps tendinits and shoulder fatigue. However, the fifteen year veteran has enjoyed n excellent career in the bigs, going 163-122 with a 3.43 ERA spending most of his career split between the Philadelphia Phillies (ten years) and the Texas Rangers (four years).

He's had solid success in the post-season, with a record of 7-6 and ERA of 3.41, winning the aforementioned NLCS and World Series MVP awards in 2008 when the Phillies were on route to their first World Series since 1980, and the franchise's second overall.

Should the Dodgers sign Hamels, he will provide solid left-handed rotational depth to go along with newly acquired Scherzer.
