The Dodgers Seem To Be Cutting Ties With Trevor Bauer

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has already stated that Trevor Bauer is not expected to be back when his seven-day leave ends on Friday. Given the fact that he is still under investigation for serious crimes, this is entirely understandable. However, it appears that Bauer's future with the team is in serious jeopardy after a series of moves by the team today.

Earlier today, the Dodgers removed Trevor Bauer bobblehead day from their promotional calendar. It was scheduled for August 19th. This alone is noteworthy, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Since then, the Dodgers have removed all of Bauer's merchandise from both their team store and the MLB websites, as reported by Dodgers beat writer, Bill Plunkett

These actions appear to be significant steps in the process of the investigation. Although we are still waiting for more information to be announced, there is a real chance that Bauer could be released by the team. This is absolutely not what they envisioned when they signed the top-of-the-line pitcher to his 3-year, $102 million contract. However, the Dodgers will be left with no choice if he is officially proven guilty.
