Rumor: Trade Coming Involving New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals

The New York Yankees are trying to do whatever they can to upgrade their roster and from all accounts it sounds like a center fielder is their top priority. According to MLB.com Mark Feinsand, he sees Kansas City Royals outfielder Michael A. Taylor as a primary target.

Feinsand fielded some questions on the topic and had this to say about the Yankees and Taylor being a match:

If you’re looking for a true low-cost outfielder, Michael A. Taylor (who is owed about $1 million through the end of the season) seems to be the ideal fit for the Yankees, who are in need of help in center field.

The 30-year-old Taylor spent seven seasons with the Washington Nationals before making his way to Kansas City. So far this season he's batting .231 in 67 games and has recorded five HR and 23 RBI. Taylor isn't used to playing every single day but has the ability to play all three outfield positions which is very appealing for the Yankees who need more lineup versatility.

The Royals currently sit at 33-40 on the season, 10.5 games back in their division. Without a scorching couple of weeks coming up, expect to see multiple trades from the team. Along with Taylor the Royals have Danny Duffy, Greg Holland and Jorge Soler, all pending free agents who could be had if the price is right.
