Video: Ketel Marte Has Absolutely SHOCKING Message for Diamondbacks Fans

After slapping his teammates in the face, metaphorically speaking, by going AWOL on them last week in the middle of a playoff chase, Ketel Marte has now left Arizona Diamondbacks fans wondering what he thinks of them. 

He finally returned to the team on Monday night after his two-week absence, but watch his shocking lack of emotion or contrition as he is asked directly if he had a message for D-Backs fans:

Marte gave no apology. No answer at all, actually, simply shaking his head no. 

As for how he intended to apologize to his teammates, he gave a bit more of a legitimate response:

"I'm going to stand in front of my teammates, like a man. I’m going to ask for forgiveness. We’re all human. We all commit mistakes." 

This was the 4th consecutive season that Marte has gone AWOL on the team, for one reason or another. 

But more discipline for the wayward slugger? Not on manager Torey Lovullo's watch. 

"There's a different way to handle every personality in this clubhouse," said the manager. "I know what he responds to, and there are times that I do [criticize him], and it doesn't end well. Sometimes, he does not respond to that. So, I just want everybody to be patient with him, care for him, and support him because he feels the energy from people." 

Marte faced boos from the fans when he stepped to the plate, and even more when he grounded out.

He wound up going 1-for-3 with a walk. 

After the game, however, Marte claimed he didn't understand the question earlier about whether he had a message for fans.  

"I'm never going to stop loving my fans and that's what I want them to understand." 

The three-time All-Star is back, but for how long, nobody really knows. What we do know is that he still has four years remaining on his six-year, $116.5 million extension, signed just two years ago.
