Aaron Judge’s Long Awaited Return Is Upon Us

It was a big day at Yankee Stadium, even though the big league team did not have a game scheduled. It was Aaron Judge taking live batting practice that had everyone excited in the Bronx. 
And then, the big announcement came Monday evening..After being out since May with a stress fracture in his rib, Judge has been officially activated and will play Tuesday night. 
He has maintained all along that hd has no interest in a rehab assignment in the minors. He wanted to to be plucked right back into the Yankees' lineup. And so he shall be.

Manager Aaron Boone said, in lieu of a minor league rehab stint, he would consider other ways of building Judge back up at the big league level: "Maybe it's playing a game, having an off-day. Maybe it's playing 5, 6, 7 innings in a game and get him out. Those things are on the table."

Having their MVP out for over three months has been a tough go for the Pinstripers, but they've handled it fairly well. 

They were 36-23 (.610) when Judge last played on May 31. They were 45-39 (.535) without him. 

“We’ve had long stretches where the offense has struggled. I think a big part of that is not having your guy,” Boone said. “I also feel like that’s ticked up here in the last couple of weeks, where we’ve really started to play better offensively. We certainly look forward to getting our guy back.”

With three weeks to play in the regular season, the Yankees trail the Tampa Bay Rays by 4.0 games in the American League East division and lead the wild card chase by two games over the Boston Red Sox.
