MLB Rumors: Red Sox's Jarren Duran Linked to NL East Team

Jarren Duran, Boston Red Sox

Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran has been a top trade candidate since the start of the offseason. It is understandable, as the Red Sox have a surplus of MLB-caliber outfielders. As a result of this, a player like Duran could be used in a trade to improve the Red Sox's roster elsewhere.

The Red Sox have also struggled out of the gate this season. This very well could make them more open to dealing Duran, and the 29-year-old is now being linked to a team in the National League East because of it.

In a recent article for Sports Illustrated, Patrick McAvoy named the Philadelphia Phillies as a potential landing spot for Duran.

When looking at the Phillies' current roster, there is no question that they could use a player like Duran. He would provide them with another impactful outfielder to work with, which is a major need for the Phillies right now.

The Phillies have also had a cold start to the season, as evidenced by their 8-10 record. Because of this, it would make sense if they aggressively looked to upgrade their roster now before things potentially get worse. Thus, it would be understandable if they pushed hard to bring in Duran.

It will be interesting to see if the Red Sox and Phillies can strike a deal centering around Duran from here.
