MLB Rumors: Atlanta Braves & Athletics Linked to Potential Trade

Luis Severino, Athletics

The Atlanta Braves are dealing with some serious injury trouble when it comes to their pitching. As a result of this, it would not be surprising in the slightest if they looked to add to their rotation during the early parts of the campaign.

Due to this, the Braves are now being linked to one of the top starting pitchers who is in the rumor mill right now.

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Zachary D. Rymer listed the Braves as the top potential landing spot for Athletics pitcher Luis Severino.

It is no secret that Severino could use a fresh start, and landing with a team like the Braves could be perfect for him. He would give them another solid pitcher to work with in their rotation, and he would get the chance to play for a Braves team that is looking to be true contenders.

Severino appeared in 29 games this past season with the Athletics, where he had an 8-11 record, a 4.54 ERA, and 124 strikeouts. The two-time All-Star had a solid first appearance of the 2026 season with the Athletics, allowing two runs and striking out three batters in five innings.

While Severino would be a good fit on the Braves' roster, the same could be said for multiple other teams in need of pitching help. Thus, Atlanta will have competition if they decide to pursue him, and it will be intriguing to see if they end up landing him from here.
